Description

We are looking for an experienced Freelance Web Designer to play a key role in our ongoing websites and marketing materials.

This role will work primarily on our main website as well as our conference websites, html emails and occasionally print materials. Our website and events target the ad, digital, PR industry.

This person will work directly with our team leading specific design projects and providing input on the user experience for our main website and event websites. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about building and improving on a progressive online experience, already serving several hundred agencies.

This role will be part time, freelance (hours will vary week to week but will range from 10-40/month). We will always confirm availability in advance of projects being assigned.

Position Includes
- Creative brainstorming to enhance the current User Experience through design
- Collaborating with our team on overall online product and service ideas
- Developing the design concepts to bring the user experience to life, within our current brand tone/personality
- Working closely with our front/back-end developers to ensure the site is visually on spec

Areas of Focus
- The majority of the job will handle web design for our main website
- Web Design

- 3 Conference Sites
- Blog (future project)

Nice to Have
- Provide minor graphic design support for conference print materials
- Front end theming with HTML and CSS experience for working in Wordpress
- Advise on e-commerce experience for membership and conference purchases

A Little About You
- Ability to develop progressive, contemporary web design based on achieving a specific user experience, within the voice of a brand
- Knowledge and demonstrated experience with cross-browser and cross-platform issues
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work in a team and to communicate clearly
- Strong knowledge of current web-design trends and techniques, an online portfolio displaying user-centered design
- Asks all necessary questions to ensure perfect clarity of each project brief
- Knowledge of Wordpress, CSS and HTML is a plus
- Bring a "can do" attitude to challenges
- Ability to work (at times) on-site in our Ballard office is a plus but not necessary
