Description
Linux Systems Engineer, Chef, Puppet, NetAppClient is a leading media organisation looking for a Linux Systems Engineer to work within their offices in London. The Linux Systems Engineer will provision and administer both Unix and Linux Systems as well as NetApp storage systems.
Key Deliverables:
- Managing NetApp storage systems
- Developing and maintaining orchestration tooling using Chef and Puppet among others
- Ensuring operational stability through back-ups, monitoring, etc.
- Maintaining security levels across Linux servers and housed applications through secure configuration, installation hardening and patch management
Essential Experience:
- Considerable experience and knowledge of Linux, Unix and storage systems
- Strong experience of deploying and developing a Puppet environment
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, SSH, DNS, NFS and other Linux networking protocols and services
- Strong understanding of NetApp storage technology
- Strong knowledge of versioning systems such as CVS, SVN and GIT
- A stellar understanding of Apache httpd.
- Strong knowledge of one of the following: Perl, Ruby or Python
- Some experience of Oracle, MySQL and managing web applications
- Some experience with AWS and Whitepapers as well as VMware
