Description
A Global Renewable Energy client is looking for an Electrical Installation & Commissioning Supervisor for its offshore wind farm project.
The Electrical Installation & Commissioning Supervisor will be required to perform day-to-day supervision of electrical installations to ensure quality and progress. To control that tests are carried out and documented to ensure a safe work environment. LV equipment operation. The Electrical Installation & Commissioning Supervisor should be an expert in LV installation which would include LAN and fibre optic cable installation, also be an expert in cable management and have a knowledge of installation techniques within all electrical areas, and have experience with onshore substations.
This is anticipated to be an 8 month freelance contract to start from 1st August 2016 up until approx. 31st March 2017 with the possibility of extending further thereafter. Hours of work will be 5 days per week, 8 hours in average.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure planning, implementation and documentation of the commissioning process in the assigned technical area
- Day-to -day management and participation in toolbox meetings, coordination and documentation of the commissioning work within the defined technical area
- To ensure that commissioning within the defined technical area is executed effectively and on time
- Ensure that the work is in compliance with the project HSE rules and local legislation
- To ensure that tests are carried out and that commissioning work is documented according to rules, procedures and templates
- Contribute to proactive management, good coordination and communication between all parties and the process works effectively
- Any other activities, as directed by the commissioning manager
- To report to O&M facilities construction manager in all matters (O&M facilities)
- Cooperate to control that all HSE procedures are implemented
- Take part in witnessing of FAT, depending on schedule
- SAT - report deviations/troubles to the package manager of the equipment
- Be an active part of the SIT test especially by supporting protection and test engineers
- Monitor and document performance test of sub-systems
- Participate in the preparation of snagging lists
- Ensure that the necessary safety signs/notices, barriers and other safety measures are implemented on a day-to-day basis during commissioning.
Qualifications:
- 3 years or relevant project experience required
- Commissioning and installation/construction experience within field of MV/HV equipment, SCADA, low voltage, protection and utility installations and components
- Experience with onshore or offshore substation work
- The Consultant must bring his/her own mobile telephone.
- Onshore works: The client will provide office facilities available to the Consultant including office space and a PC
