Description

For IBM Amsterdam I am looking for an fulltime IMS System programmer, start ASAP.

Tasks

  • Carry out day-to-day performance & tuning (infrastructure & applications).
  • Advise and assist in project related activities concerning performance and tuning (infrastructure & applications).
  • Investigate and solve IMS and DB2 for z/OS related incidents and problems.
  • Handle requests and answer questions from (internal and external) customers related to IMS and DB2 for z/OS.
  • Carry out 'Business As Usual' work like healthchecks, administrative tasks, security requests.
  • Generate ideas to improve procedures and workmethods and put these ideas into practice.

Experience

  • Provable extensive knowledge of IMS DB & IMS TM v12 including IMS connect.
  • Install and maintain other IBM IMS related products and Third Party Software for IMS TM and IMS DB.
  • Provable extensive knowledge of IMS DB backup & recovery.
  • Provable extensive knowledge of IMS TM & IMS DB & application performance & tuning.
  • Knowledge and usage of monitoring products as Mainview and analysis tools IMS connect extensions, IPI, IPA.
  • Knowledge of Parallel Sysplex facilities.
  • Medium level of knowledge of DB2 for z/OS.
  • Basic skills for related products: z/OS, CICS, MQ and WAS.
  • Basic RACF knowledge.
  • Basic Rexx knowledge.
  • ITIL knowledge.
  • Needs to be able to work independently and must be analytic, completing 95% of the work without help from the team in the Netherlands. Must be proactive: must generate ideas to improve procedures and workmethods and be able to put these ideas into practice. Must be critical and have good judgement.
  • Fluent English speaker and writer.
