End User Computing Architect - London - Windows

Active SC clearance preferred but would consider people who are meet the SC criteria and willing to wait for the clearance/waiver.

As the End User Computing Architect you will oversee the strategy, architecture, component selection, application design of the integration and interoperability of software programs, vendor applications, and third-party solutions for desktop and mobile devices.

You should be business-focused, possess strong technical aptitude, excellent client-facing communication skills to drive creative and innovative outcomes for the businesses. You will need to be able to bridge the gap between business and technology, manage resources, run evaluations, drive technical solutions to timely completion. This role works closely with a wide variety of customers from senior managers to development team, vendors, infrastructure teams and business representatives to generate appropriate results, and help the business understand the solutions and their impact on operations.

Skills Required
Strong experience of Windows 8/10 Desktops, Thin-clients and Tablets Experience of Apple laptop devices Experience of Windows, Android and Apple tablet and mobile devices Experience of designing end-user solutions at HMG OFFICIAL and SECRET protective Marking level Strong experience of risk based architecture and design using vulnerability analysis Strong experience of Office 365, Microsoft Azure and Microsoft desktop applications Strong experience of Microsoft Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge and browser based applications (including TypeScript/ECMAScript, HTML5 and CSS) Strong Experience Migration from Rich Client (WinForms and XAML) to Browser Based Applications (HTML5, TS/ES and CSS) Strong experience with identity management, user provisioning, access control, end-point protection, data-loss prevention, authentication and authorisation Strong experience of service design relating to user enrolment, provisioning, single sign-on, system maintenance, encryption, trusted platform modules and protective monitoring Strong architecture definition skills and a good understanding of architectural concepts, methodologies and frameworks Practical experience of regression testing desktop (especially Microsoft Office applications) and web applications Experience of managing a team desirable.

Role definition/duties
Develop vision, principles and strategies for End User Architecture for the client functions with input from all stakeholders Lead or participate in Technology Governance processes for End-User technology for evaluation, adoption and retirement.
Promote the principles and strategies through publishing and presenting documents and diagrams Inspire and influence teams to converge on common set of integrated end-user device design patterns Provide specialist advice with and knowledge of government desktop/mobile architectures Provide oversight and guidance with government procedures and processes Provide direction, analysis and design facilitation to develop, maintain and govern a security architecture Ensure that the architecture's principles, designs, technologies, methods and practices are properly executed Work with IA consultants (or have IA qualification yourself) for accreditation processes Support and facilitation of architectural decisions within business programmes

This is a contract running to the end of the year with the view to extend paying excellent daily rates
