Our Local Government client based in East London is currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical & Electrical Service Improvement Manager to come on board for an initial 3month period.

Start: ASAP
Duration: 3months +
Location: East London
Rate: £350-£450

Performance Management

- Focus on Gas Servicing, compliance and M&E repairs services
- Develop Management Reporting on KPIs to include service quality, productivity, financial measures
- Drive the service to improve on KPIs and meet operational targets
- Work with and manage Supervisors to embed a cultural change towards performance management of operatives and a more commercial focus
- Ensure that appropriate action and disciplinary procedures are followed correctly to address areas of poor performance

Service Improvement
- Particular emphasis on moving all operatives onto PDA working and having a more system led approach to GAS servicing
- Implement and drive process changes to streamline the customer journey experience by embedding changes within customer service, work planning, and operations.
- Increase accessibility of information and communication across the department, particularly for front line staff ie contact centre and operatives to improve Right First Time responses
- Improve communication channels and engagement between operatives and office staff, ie toolbox talks, access to email and facility to send photos from PDA, 1-2-1s with Supervisors etc.

Financial Management
- Critically evaluate the service and provide expert input to the Home Services Workgroup and Business Case with an options appraisal for delivering M&E services
- Manage control measures for sub contracting work based on specialist work types and service peaks
- Ensure standing orders are followed and the Council receives best value for money
- Review of existing list of approved contractors use and performance, including VFM with a view to streamline and identify areas for re-procurement
- Embed greater financial awareness across the department, particularly for Supervisors/Surveyors to manage the service within budget
