Time for Summer??1 x Oracle DBA role is available in Valencia, Spain.
The successful candidate will join an international organisation that provides remote IT and Communication support. This is an English speaking role within a multinational environment and as a Database Administrator you will join an existing team made up of Oracle and SQL Server specialists.

Your duties as Oracle DBA:
- Provide technical support for Managed Oracle Database Hosting services, including system administration of Oracle database technology components.
- Design, install, configure and support Oracle database instances.
- Design, install, configure and support Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), including Stretched Clusters.
- Implement backups using RMAN, disaster recovery using DataGuard, monitoring using Oracle Enterprise Manager.
- Apply database patches, updates and perform upgrades.
- Co-ordinate with the application and database vendors for resolution of problems (functional bugs, performance issues, etc).
- Assist in the provision of technical support for the ERP development team of the Partner Organization(s).
- Assist in the planning and running of disaster recovery tests.
- Provide assistance in landscape design.
- Monitor capacity.
- Perform routine production support activities and provide incident and problem management support.
- Troubleshoot database-related issues.
- Undertake performance tuning.
- Produce documentation as required.
- Implement project-type activities and other requests for services.
- Perform support activities during maintenance windows.
- In case of emergencies, provide support (either on-site or remotely using VPN connectivity) outside normal working hours.
- Provide standby and on-call support as and when required.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Excellent knowledge in the installation and administration of Oracle Databases (with proven background and 3+ years as an Oracle DBA).
- Strong communication skills in English, both oral and written.
- Oracle RAC 11gR1/11gR2installation and troubleshooting experience.
- troubleshooting with production performance issues.
- Experience with SQL and PL/SQL development
- Knowledge on performance tuning tools like AWR, ADDM, EM, ASH etc
- Experience with RAC, disaster recover RMAN, backup and similar.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Practical experience with interactive systems, advanced understanding of relational databases.
- Knowledge of Service Level Management Principles (ITIL).
- Able to live and work in Valencia, Spain.
- Any Spanish or French language skills will be a bonus.
