We are currently recruiting for a Financial Controller to join a market-leading Aerospace and Defence company for a position based in Basingstoke. We are looking for candidates with a background of working within a Consultancy.
Primary Purpose of the Job
- The Financial Controller is responsible for supporting the business activities and:
- Responsible for provision and integrity of timely financial management information to allow for successful management and development of the Domain.
- Manage achievement for areas of specific responsibility and Domain targets for sales, EBIT and Operating Cash Flow (OCF)
- Provide close advice and decision-making support to appropriate Domain director, to the necessary mutually agreed level.
- Effective review of Offers made to customers in line with the Company Delegation of Authority. Ensure financial integrity in the preparation and delivery of new Bids.Ensure Bids are delivered in line with the requirements of the company
- Reference System (Chorus 2.0)
- Effective management and development of Finance staff reporting into this role.
- Quality Assurance of Finance data, systems and processes.
- Ensuring effective Finance contributions to transverse action plans.
- Identification of Financial Risks and Opportunities within the Domain.
Experience Required:
- Ideally experience of a Senior Finance role within a consultancy environment.
- Strong understanding of commercial and financial aspects of the business.
- Ability to assimilate and analyse financial and commercial information.
- Experience in providing financial analysis in a fast moving technical environment.
- Ability to communicate and explain the implications of business issues.
- Change agent, able to identify and implement change within the finance environment, and to support the change process in the Company as a whole, to improve effectiveness
- Highly proficient in Excel.
- Good working understanding of ERP systems (ideally Oracle).
Qualifications Required
- Ideally educated to degree level (preferably in a finance, or related discipline).
- A professional accounting qualification - Ideally CIMA or ACCA.
