A Head of Development is required by a creative start-up based in the heart of sunny seaside Brighton. The company is VC backed by one of the leading backers in technology start-ups. The company is experiencing a period of rapid growth and now require a CTO Head of Development to take them on the next stage of their amazing journey.
As the CTO Head of Development It will be a chance to work for one of the fastest growing tech companies in Brighton that are rapidly disrupting their sector through providing a dynamic and forward thinking approach to the way they use technology in this business sector.
The successful CTO Head of Development will have exceptional Backend development skills creating secure, high performance web applications and will have the experience of all aspects of design and is comfortable delivering products from conception to deployment. You will be the driving force behind the design function of this business, working closely alongside the COO & CEO, whilst providing clear transparency and logic throughout the whole design process. The leadership aspect of this role is crucial so you must be able to manage the end to end product cycle as well as other designers. It is important that this person is not only technically adapt but they have the ability and experience to take ownership on a product and manage a team well.
The successful candidate will have:
- Several years' commercial experience as a Back End developer.
- Back End MVC frameworks (Preferably PHP, Laravel/Cake though will consider others)
- Experience working with databases
- AWS experience would be ideal
- Experience working with REST APIs
- Experience with larger scale websites
- Knowledge of version control
- Knowledge of semantic HTML5
- Have leadership experience
- Ability to take ownership of technical projects; seeing them through from vision/design to release.
