Description

QA Automation Engineer - 6 months+ Dublin (€400+ per day)

Duties

  • As a QA Engineer (automation) Embedded in the software development team, you will work closely with the programmers to increase product quality by providing immediate testing as features are being developed, and develop automated testing tools. Autonomous and self-driven, you will be a valued contributor to the product quality by improving test cases, test plans, documentation and automated testing tools or testing strategies.
  • Contribute to a custom Automation Framework, which is a collection of commonly used automated testing tools, by adding features, implementing enhancements, and fixing issues.
  • The Quality Automation Engineer will develop automation tools and UI testing scripts using Selenium, Appium and other testing tools to routinely test software deployments and products.
  • Work within and contribute to a continuous integration workflow.
  • Adheres to automation 'best-practices' and standards to allow for easier collaboration among automation team members and increase the quality of the automation code.
  • Create documentation and training aides to help local team members and off-shore teams develop better automation and tools

Skills

Essential

  • 3 years+ of full life cycle software development and automated testing experience
  • Experience working on Agile/Scrum teams including participation in the following: Scrum meetings, Task Planning, Team Retrospectives, etc.
  • Experience using automated testing tools; ie Selenium Web Driver, Chrome Driver, Appium, Nightwatch.js, etc.
  • Mid-level to advanced coding skills, preferably in Javascript
  • Working knowledge of testing RESTful web services and using a corresponding tool-sets.
  • An individual with a track-record of being a 'self-starter', who is able to effectively decipher assigned tasks, deliver on-time with a high-level of accuracy, and pro-active in solving problems.
  • Familiar with Unit Testing Frameworks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail orientated, and ability to multi-task effectively

Highly Desirable

  • Mid-level to advanced knowledge of source control tools: SVN, VSS, CVS, etc., including merge and branching concepts
  • Basic understanding of Performance Tools: JMeter, LoadRunner, etc.
  • Experience of working within a Continuous Integration environment
  • Working knowledge of Test Driven Development and Behaviour Driven Design
  • ISEB/ISTQB Certification

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related technical degree
  • minimum 3 years of full life cycle software development and automated testing experience
