For our client in Amsterdam we are looking for a SAS Technical Expert with credit risk background to support the Analytics and Regulatory and External Reporting team.
We are looking for a candidate who is proficient and has proven experience in usage of SAS, combined with background in credit risk. The successful candidate has strong time management skills, attention for detail and performs well in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Job description
As a SAS technical expert in our team you will have the opportunity to support critical and dynamic ad hoc Risk deliverables to regulatory and other external stakeholders and to report and analyses on credit risk portfolio.
You will support the regulatory reporting process by:
- creating and running SAS projects to extract required information from source systems;
- ensuring data is managed and of the required quality: both monitoring and follow up (data steward role);
- interpreting and analyzing data (e.g. looking at trends/anomalies);
- following up on regulatory data requests ensuring regulatory compliance;
- embedding the knowledge and way of analyzing the data in the risk organization. Sharing expertise and work on innovative projects with other Data Scientists.
In this process, you will work closely with (senior) staff of both Risk and Finance, and interact with business line teams for specific requests. Successful candidates will drive process improvements and further improve reporting quality.
Environment:
The Reporting, Data & Analytics (RDA) department is part of the Risk Services organization providing reporting, analysis and data quality assurance services to internal and external stakeholders.
RDA consists of three teams: Risk Reporting, Self Service Analytics, and Data Governance & Quality.
We are looking for a candidate to support both the Risk Reporting and the Analytics team in their core tasks of providing timely, accurate and reliable information to ad hoc requests of regulators and other external stakeholders.
The Risk Reporting Team is an international and enthusiastic team. Members of the team have frequent interaction with other departments in the organization and as such have an opportunity to discuss and get insights into specific portfolios. Openness in communication and "can do" mentality are important characteristics of the department.
Expertise:
- Bachelor or Master in computer science or other science which has equipped you with the necessary statistics knowledge and database / programming skills;
- 3-4 years of experience in a data/analytics oriented function;
- Experience with analytic tooling (e.g. SAS, Matlab);
- Practical project experience with the application of data science;
- Knowledge of credit risk and related regulation.

- Critical mind-set with respect to what is delivered;
- Hands on mentality with regard to data;
- Have ability to cope with internal and external pressure;
- Communicative, accurate and able to work with challenging deadlines;
