Senior Market Research Manager

6 months Contract

Job Purpose:

As a global provider of specialised energy solutions, operates in a fiercely competitive industry. Penetrating customer insights are vital if we're to differentiate ourselves in our market and achieve our goal to become the Trusted Energy Partner.

You'll manage a varied portfolio of projects, including, a mix of residential customer tracking and ad hoc research. You will brief external agencies to undertake research projects ranging from customer acquisition or customer retention one minute, to exploring pricing or channel preference the next. You might be working with creative agencies investigating what customers think of our TV and other above-the-line advertising whilst also measuring the success of campaigns. Whatever the project, you'll take charge from initial brief to stakeholder debrief, following up on your recommendations to make sure they're carried out.

Put simply, you'll be the voice of the customer, bringing a deep understanding of customer attitudes, perceptions, trends and needs to everything we do. And your insight into the qualitative and quantitative research results will have a big impact on key business decisions. As part of our Customer Insight Team, which manages a budget for continuous and ad hoc research, you'll influence strategic projects. The better you build relationships with senior staff, collaborate with colleagues and partner agencies, and identify where research could inform strategy.

Essential skills

Proven experience at a Senior Market Research Manager level.

A deep understanding of both qualitative and quantitative research, including a range of advanced research techniques.

The proven ability to influence others and adapt your style to your audience and your goal.

First-hand knowledge of the benefits and limitations of online research.

Numeracy, analytical flair and a talent for generating incisive insights.

The confidence and credibility to deliver convincing presentations to senior people.

A record of promoting customer-centric change.

Desirable skills

Experience of tracking customer satisfaction or NPS (Net Promoter Score) and knowing what drives it.

The know-how to measure above-the-line campaigns and manage research agencies.

The ability to work effectively under pressure, to deadline and while juggling multiple complex projects.

A retail marketing background that's helped you develop proven commercial acumen.
