Cost Accountant
The Cost Accountant will be based with a leading financial services company in Cardiff on an initial contract length of 6 months. Although the initial contract is for 6 months, the contract has a very high potential to go long past the initial contract on offer. The initial day rate on offer is £300-£350 a day, the client has confirmed there is currently no flexible on the rate unfortunately. They are looking for the right Cost Accountant pretty urgently and ideally are looking for a candidate with notice period of 1 month or less, but it is negotiable.

The client ideally likes to keep hold of good contractors, and has quite a high potential to move on to future projects if you have proven yourself as a reliable contractor.
The responsibilities of the Cost Accountant will be to monitor and track the costs of the project. Along with liaising across multiple teams, you will be responsible for the production of MI. The role is very cost focus, so experience with costing would be key for this particular role.
Some of the core characteristics that the successful cost accountant will possess are part or fully qualified accountant, experience working with costing for large projects, strong MI skills, and good senior stakeholder manager. Some of the desirable skills that the client has listed are good communication skills, ability to challenge current processes, and great energy and drive.
