Your New role:-
The NUPS IAM Senior engineer will integrate the IAM department of NUPS II. Responsibilities encompass deploying, provisioning and operating complex LDAP-based provisioning systems which provide different functionalities to the main authentication services of the client.
The Identity and Access Management service aims at providing IT identity to Commission users but also to partners users (ie users from other institutions, from agencies, JTI, etc.) and external users (ie any citizen of the world). In the context of the Commission, the identity will accompany the users throughout their relationship with the Commission.
The corporate identity takes the form of a userid (or login name), a set of associated credentials, and a set of attributes describing the person and their role within the organization. Users attributes are derived largely from HR sources, and determine the automatic entitlements that the users receive. Further attributes are obtained from the IT domain, such as e-mail address and additional acquired access rights, or from sources such as the phone book for office address and phone number
Duties:
Operational tasks on Oracle Directory server such as:
- Stop/Start LDAP Server
- Replication tasks (stop, start, resync, ssl)
- Perform LDAP query
- Indexing jobs
- Troubleshooting via access, audit, error logs
- Backup of running instance
- Restore instance from backup
- Schema updates
Infrastructure
- Upgrade LDAP Server to new version
- Patch the server
- Migrate from Solaris to Linux
Monitoring
- Abilities to monitor the LDAP Servers via homemade scripts
- Understand mechanism to proactively monitor the LDAP Servers
Scripting
- Write new scripts bash, ksh, Perl
- Improve current scripts
Operating systems
- Linux RedHat 6.5
- Solaris 10 update 10
Administrative tasks:
- Create incidents
- Manage incidents/request for service/request for info from the outside world
- Create and lead change management (create tickets, procedure, documentation)
- Create/update documentation and operational procedures
Your Skills and experience:-
- At least 6 years of experience in UNIX/Oracle infrastructure environments
Very good knowledge of:
- Linux/UNIX/Oracle
- SQL
- JAVA
- PERL
- SHELL
- Ability to adapt to changes quickly
- Perfect knowledge of English and French
- Punctual, meticulous and reliable
- Analytical and systematic approach to problem solving
- Experience with European Commission is an asset
- ITIL V3 foundation certification
- Experience with Prince2/PM² methodologies
- Experience with ticketing system (SMT is an asset)
- Experience with CHANGE and RELEASE Management
- Experience with Sharepoint as user
Working Conditions:
- Work shifts of 8 hours covering the time range between 08h00 and 19h00 from Monday to
Friday with some flexibility required when overtime is exceptionally needed.
- Office located in Brussels, European neighbourhood
