Description
An exciting opportunity is available for a Software Developer. This position is located in the historic city of Luxembourg.
Tasks/activities
Daily support
- 1st and 2nd level support, problem follow-up and resolution
- Root cause analysis, investigation including code research
- Active management of the tickets backlog
- Participation in Application Steering Committee meetings
Bug Fixing
- Problem analysis including debugging
- Proposal of solution including estimation and problem resolution
Application enhancement
- Business analysis
- Periodical clean-up
- Review of User Requirements
- Design of solution, including estimation
- Programming changes in Java, Javascript, XML, WSDL, VBA, Transact-SQL, Business Objects
- Resolution
Release Management
- Setup and maintain an action plan (Gantt chart)
- Branch management (ie patching and merging)
- Usage, configuration of build environment
- Build of releases
- Coordination with other IT teams
Testing
- Non-regression testing, pre-release testing
- Write, review and run test cases
- Write and review test results
Continuous improvements
- Challenge existing processes with the aim of reaching higher efficiency
- Automation of repetitive tasks
- Training/guidance
- Providing support and consulting services
- Cross code review
- Propose, implement, enforce and maintain software development standards (design patters, naming convention, etc.)
Documentation
- Application code and manual
- Project documentation
- Application's Wiki pages and other application documentation repositories
- Tickets for incidents, changes and promotions requests
Project Management
- Coordination and prioritization
- Control and validate deliverables and services assuring quality and standards are always respected
- Repporting, prepare and provide presentations
We are searching with a candidate with a following profile
- More than 7 years of relevant IT experience
- Financial Sector applications
- Software analysis, design and testing
- Java web application programming
- Database programming using SQL
- Maintaining a Credit Risk software
- Good command of English
Competences and experience in:
- Seam 2.2 or higher, EJB3, Hibernate, JAVA6, JBoss, Javascript, JSF/Richfaces
- Transact SQL on Sybase, Matlab, XML/XSLT
The assignment is offered for a period of 7 months, with possible extensions afterwards, starting ASAP.
