Description

*Payments Operations Analyst- Bank of America Merill Lynch, Chester - 6 months*

This position reports to the Payment and Affinity Operations Manager and is responsible for a wide variety of duties within the Payment and Affinity Operations 'PAO' team. The team are responsible for processing payment requests from a variety of sources across the business including personal expenses (via Concur), Affinity Commission and CAO/CS&RO customer related payments. In addition, the team are also responsible for reconciliation of Finance owned bank accounts and maintenance of the Finance mandates (Payment, Bank and Settlements).

Responsibilities

  • Process and validate vendor invoice/payment requests (Concur, Affinity Commission, CAO, CS&RO etc).
  • Manage the payment process for allocated vendor accounts, ensuring that invoice ageing is within the agreed tolerances.
  • Liaise with Business areas internal/external to resolve any invoicing/payments challenges.
  • For larger vendor accounts, complete regular statement reconciliations,
  • investigating reconciling items as appropriate in order to invoice processing times within agreed tolerances.
  • Process daily control reports, (eg. AP to GL, vendor audits etc) ensuring all control
  • requirements are adhered to and all journals are uploaded and posted within the required deadlines.
  • Produce bank account reconciliations for Finance owned bank accounts. Manage matching process within Reconciliations, investigating any reconciling items within applicable timelines.

Essential

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Financial Services background, or large Blue Chip as they will be processing large volumes of invoices (around 700 a day)
  • Oracle Financials systems knowledge- the bank use this currently, other systems accepted.
  • Accounts payable experience
  • Clerical work experience
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Diligent by nature
  • Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to flag any issues
  • Attention to detail as there is a large focus on quality and many what if rules to follow if errors are present

Experience

The candidate will ideally have experience in one of the following areas:

  • Financial Services
  • Accounts Payable experience
  • Clerical work experience
