Position Title:    Maintenance Manager

Location:            West Midlands

Reporting to:     Plant Manager/General Manager



Description          



Quanta’s Client is looking to strengthen their Waste to Energy team with a Maintenance Manager for their plant in the West Midlands. You will be responsible for the delivery of effective maintenance planning and implementation within the W2E Facility to ensure high plant availability, efficiency and performance while meeting KPI targets.



You will work closely with the Plant Manager to achieve these targets and form an integral part of the senior management team.



You will report directly to the Plant Manager and duties/responsibilities of the role will include;



- Management of the maintenance function of the facility including the Quanta’s client maintenance team and contractual staff, while adhering to all relevant legislation and site procedures

- Planning of PPM schedules, reviewing plant defects, develop proposals for modifications where appropriate to maintain or improve plant reliability and availability

- Oversee implementation and development of the CMMS system to improve the organisation and effectiveness of all aspects of the maintenance on site.

- Plan and oversee outages with the Plant Manager, including scope and specification of the work, safety, control and interfaces between all working parties involved

- Prepare site maintenance budget proposals and work within approved budgets

- Propose modifications as appropriate to optimize efficiency and cost effectiveness.

- Ensuring that the relevant procedures are in place to maintain safe systems of work for employees and contractors.

- Liaise with the operations staff to ensure that the maintenance function is responsive to the overall needs of the business

- Ensure compliance with the company’s Health and Safety and Environmental Management systems and with all relevant legislation

- Manage service agreements, identify new local suppliers and resources to support the business

- Be contactable by telephone, email and attend site during emergency situations and plant breakdowns if they occur out of hours

- Attend monthly management meetings and compile monthly reports

- Develop staff, conduct appraisals, identify and plan training requirements



Knowledge / Qualifications



- Degree/HND/HNC or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline

- IOSH or similar Health & Safety qualification

- Strong experience of maintenance and engineering in a proven high pressure environment

- Good experience of Permit to Work Systems

- Strong knowledge of Safe Systems of Work

- Electrical / Mechanical background

- Experience of PLC / SCADA systems



 Ability / Experience



- Experience gained through working in a continuous process industry, preferably in a Waste to Energy environment or Engineering / Manufacturing / Navy background.

- Ability to lead a maintenance team to ensure adherence with procedures and effective utilization of staff

- Experience of outage planning, PPM schedules, fault reporting using CMMS

- Management or supervisory experience essential

- Waste to Energy / Power Plant Operations knowledge desirable

- Knowledge of high pressure steam systems / turbines / generators advantageous

- Experience of continuous emissions monitoring (CEMS) desirable

- IT literate
