DevOps Engineer required for an initial 6 month duration with this high profile policing team.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the change programme in IT Policing (TTP - Total Technology Policing) with a new team, Greenfield projects and an agile working environment which will change the face of London Policing. There are immediate goals to achieve and we will start rolling out new projects for the policing services (mobile services on tablets, vehicles and laptops) in October 2015
*3+ years designing, implementing and supporting private cloud based on OpenStack.
*5+ years designing, implementing and supporting large scale, highly available, production Linux environments.
*Comprehensive knowledge of Linux and common Linux applications (Kernel tuning, iptables, MySQL, RabbitMQ, HAproxy, Keepalived, Apache).
*Deep knowledge networking concepts and administration (TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, GRE, Openvswitch, Load balancing).
*Excellent Scripting capabilities in bash, python, git.
*Working knowledge of configuration management framework Puppet.
*Understanding of Client Server and cloud computing architectures.
*Passion for learning and the flexibility to work with rapidly changing technology.
