Manufacturing Engineer
This Manufacturing Engineer role is based within a leading aerospace client in Birmingham. You will be involved in the analysis of manufacturing processes of machined metal components to close tolerances.
The role and your experience:
In order to improve current reject rates within this business you must have the ability to review the machine manufacturing processes and advise and discuss improvements that could be made to prevent product failures.
Problem solving, for example six sigma, variation management and 5 whys plus experience with new product introduction is essential.
A hands on machining background would be preferred, for example experience programming 5 axis machines with CADCAM software which is Vericut and Powermill by Delcam.
Machine tool programming languages including FANUC would be desirable as is an understanding of measurement including CMM results.
Essential:
Manufacturing process experience
Process analysis -eg) reject rates and NPI
PFMEA
Practical machining and programming background in a highly regulated environment
Six sigma methodology experience
Desirable:
5 axis programming
CMM knowledge
Gauge R&R
The initial contract is initially for 6 months but would be extended dependent on performance and the needs of the business.
