Job Description:
The Responsibilities/required skills are as follows:
- Dedicated to BI Capability support
- BI specific experience with strong experience of:
- Data analysis
- ETL understanding
- SQL & SPL understanding
- End to end batch navigation understanding
- Respond to Data Quality issues as they arise. Examples include:
- End user notices/perceives inaccuracies in the data
- Inbuilt threshold checks highlight exception potential anomalies
- Analyse data issues; check ETL flow, query Teradata DB. Devise and supervise execution of resolutions where necessary. Involve source system support resources when necessary. Examples include:
- Unexpected source data type
- Duplicate source data records
- Unexpected source system changes. Immediately involve source system support resources. Determine most expedient resolution to ensure that ETL flow.
- Be the business face of AS team (engage with designated business SMEs), prioritise issue resolution order based on business continuity requirements.
- Maintain the documentation required to ensure support continuity.
- Have deep content knowledge of source system to EDW data flow; understand the end to end batch flow.
- Maintain contact list of Source System technical (AS) & Business SMEs required to assist in issue resolution. Request support when required.
- Act as point of contact for data issues and direct the investigation of data issues and ensure completion of root cause analysis.
- Act as SMEs for the BI Data Flows, Transformations & Outputs
- As part of Service Introduction cycle; advise on impact of change to existing service and provide input on best approach to change.
- Have broad platform technical skills - GCFR, Informatica ETL, SQL, Teradata SPL & Tableau
- Liaise with BI Change (Change zone) to understand new developments.
