Senior Front End Web Developer - London - p/d
Our client is a digital business that drives innovation, builds products, and brings them to market. In effect, they are a start-up that builds other start-ups.
We are looking for engineers to be part of a full-stack, cross-functional, co-located product development team; creative, passionate people with a collaborative mind-set who can work effectively together to form high performance teams and solve complex problems. We're seeking engineers who are versatile, with a broad range of skills, who also bring a depth of knowledge in engineering practices, tools and specific languages/technologies.
Required Experience
- 7+ years for Senior Engineer
- Worked on multi-member teams to realise visual and interaction designs as browser-based web applications.
- Translated visual UX/UI designs and wireframes into runtime Front End code that delivers the visual experience of an application.
- Connected to Back End services deployed on elastic infrastructure to populate Front End application state.
- Deployed one or more web applications used by thousands (or more) end users, or delivering significant business value in a business or enterprise context.
Required Skills
- Proficient in web markup, including HTML5, CSS3.
- Proficient in Server Side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS.
- Understand asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX
- Use image authoring and editing tools to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on image assets; familiarity with Gimp or Photoshop.
- Proficient with distributed version control (Git)
- Understand SEO principles and how to implement them at scale.
- Proficient with client-side Scripting and Javascript frameworks, including jQuery and exposure to common frameworks such as Angular, Knockout, Ember, ReactJS, etc.
- Contribution to relevant open-source tools and libraries.
We do not expect engineers to be experts in all languages, but you should be able to write code in several core development languages, have worked with the important frameworks and tools in a variety of platforms, and be willing to use your knowledge and experience in new domains.
