Title: Quality Control Inspector - CA (Multiple openings)
Location: Carlsbad, CA
Rate: $20.43 - $25.43/hr on w2
Duration: 13 Months (with possible extension)
Description:
- Under minimal supervision, this position will perform a variety of visual and dimensional inspection of machined, plastic and sheet metal parts including flat pattern design, fixtures, gages and completed assemblies to determine precise conformance to specifications, tolerances and workmanship standards. May perform in-process audits and or internal audits. May participate in the validation of inspection fixtures and methods and process reports through change control process.
- Must be able to read and interpret Blue Prints and Technical Specifications for mechanical and electrical assemblies.
- Must be able to inspect parts involving numerous precision tolerance dimensions, coordinated dimensions, irregular surfaces and contours which must be inspected by precision measuring instruments from surface plate set ups where no inspection jigs or fixtures are available.

- Work in a regulated environment with strict adherence to policies and procedures.

Position Requirements:
- The candidate must be proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments to include:
- Calipers
- Micrometers
- Depth gauges
- Height gauges
- Indicators
- Thread gauges
- Comparator
- Must have knowledge of inspection specifications, processing, hardware and finishing specifications.
- Must have strong detail skills
- Proficiency in Windows, Excel MS Word and Outlook. SAP experience is desirable.
- Must have oral communication skills, demonstrate team work, be adaptable, have the ability to prioritize and plan work activities and use time efficiently.
Experience:
- Must have a minimum of 5+ years of experience in Quality as a Mechanical/Dimensional Inspector
- Experience working in a Medical Device Industry is a plus
- CMM Programming Experience is desired
- Vision System Programming Experience is desired
- Required demonstrated proficiency in reading, basic math and manual dexterity
- Requires ability to reach and stand on continuous basis and to lift 15 pounds on a continuous basis and up to 40 pounds infrequently
Educational Requirements:
- AA. Degree desirable or equivalent years of experience.
