Mechanical Vehicle Fitter
My Client, A leading Engineering Services company based in Bovington, Dorset is urgently seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join their team for a minimum of 6 months.
- Carry out work to the required standard and specification as detailed on the Baan job card in accordance with AESP's, customer requirements, current regulations, local instructions, process plans and other technical publications.
- Undertake diagnostic and inspection duties on equipment and to carry out road testing on category C licence vehicles.
- Ensure all Baan transactions are carried out in accordance with processes and that time is booked daily.
- Creation of Baan job cards and demanding of spares for those jobs submitted directly to the cost centre where the relevant Baan training has been completed.
- Completion equipment documentation and test certificates/reports.
- Esure stores and equipment issued to job are used for their correct purpose.
- Maintain the requirements of COSHH, Health & Safety and other statutory regulations. Ensure a good standard of housekeeping, cleanliness and safety in his/her work area to ensure the correct disposal of any hazardous or waste products.
- Maintain tools and equipment in a good serviceable order, reporting any faults to the Team leader and is responsible for their security at all times.
- Consult his/her Team leader regarding any problems affecting the repair process, especially when additional work is deemed necessary.
- Consult Team leader regarding any problems affecting Quality or Health & Safety.
- Execute other minor duties commensurate with grade and post on occasional basis as detailed by his/her Line Management chain.
Skills required:
- Recognised apprenticeship or appropriate training qualification to skilled status in automotive engineering. Hold a category C licence.
