Description

We are looking for an Electronics Engineer to join a market-leading Aerospace and Defence company for a position based in Templecombe, Somerset.

Applicants must also be able to obtain SC clearance due to the highly-sensitive nature of work.

Primary Purpose of the Role:

To develop innovative and cost effective electronic solutions which meet design requirements within the constraints of the programme budget and schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and development of electronic and electro-mechanical solutions.
  • Generation of product technical specification documents, design test and verification documentation, and statements of work.
  • To implement hardware design requirements, with respect to performance, engineering features, interfaces and testing requirements.
  • To work with colleagues to design new systems, circuits and devices or to further develop existing technology.
  • Use simulation and modelling tools to analyse the predicted performance of designs.
  • To maintain and ensure compliance to related design standards processes and procedures such as CE marking requirements. In addition the creation of CE compliance docuementation, such as technical files, LVD assesments etc.
  • Deliver defined tasks to budget & schedule.
  • Actively participate in process improvement activities including lean and other innovation activities.
  • Work closely with other hardware engineers across projects as required.
  • Carry out general electronic/electro mechanical engineering tasks as required by the business.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Experience/Knowledge of Digital Signal Processing, A to D converters, DSP's FPGA's.
  • Experience of electrical/electronic design activities in both the digital and analogue fields.
  • The ability to design, manufacture and test electronic circuits.
  • High level of understanding of engineering development life cycles.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Pro-active can do' attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Microsoft office suite experience.
  • Ability to create engineering drawings and circuit schematics.
  • Understanding of product data management.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders of all levels.
  • Experience using schematic capture (cadence, Cadstar).
  • Experience using lab equipment such as digital test equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzer, Emulator, Debuggers, Spectrum Analysis, etc.
