Description:
We're looking for a Expert System Developer to assist in the MHS Transformation Programme.
We are about to embark on a journey to migrate a critical Legacy system from Pascal/OpenVMS/OracleRDB to C++/Linux/Oracle 12 and at the same time replacing existing terminal based UI-screen with a modern Web-UI. We aim to employ automated migration of parts of the code base while other parts will be manually rewritten. We are working according to agile principles and you will be part of one of three agile teams working in three week sprints.
You are a senior developer with a strong C/C++/Unix/Linux background. You have experience from working with large Legacy applications in complex system landscapes as well as modern web oriented applications. You have a working knowledge of SQL and database programming and can read and understand most procedural languages. You have experience from developing REST and SOAP WebServices/API:s and are used to working with continuous integration, automated test and deployment.
Knowledge of the following technologies is very much appreciated and will get you up to speed quicker: OpenVMS, DCL Scripting, DecForms, OracleRDB. As a person you are happy to share your knowledge and able to efficiently communicate with other development related roles. You know and enjoy working according to agile principles.
The main tasks in the assignment will be/a day at work will look like:
Development of business functionality in C++. Coach the other team members in best practices regarding C++ development on Pascal and Linux.
