MS-SQL Server DBA
An MS-SQL Server DBA is urgently required for an ASAP start for a long term, lucrative project in Amsterdam with one of our leading Financial Services clients.
Our client is looking for an enthusiastic MS-SQL Server DBA with extensive experience in creating SQL Servers to deliver excellent products.
The MS-SQL Server DBA will IDEALLY HAVE 65% of the following skills and experience -
- Dutch is a bonus
- Thorough knowledge and experience of Microsoft SQL Server (preferred version in 2012).
- Strong experience of managing and configuring Microsoft SQL Server, it is an advantage if you also have this knowledge of MS-BI and SharePoint.
- Strong knowledge of SSIS, SSRS, SSAS
- Comfortable creating PowerShell scripts to simplify operational work
- Familiarity with the provision of SQL databases in a private cloud environment.
- Comfortable reading and writing with PowerShell Scripting.
- Able to set up cloud based database services in an Agile methodology
- Comfortable making and using API's.
- Happy to take the initiative to innovate.
- Enthusiastic to gain new knowledge of Microsoft technologies and use them to improve service delivery to client business partners.

The MS-SQL Server DBA will -
- Ensure a secure SQL environment in accordance with client policies
- Develop and maintain monitoring functions (Availability, Performance, Capacity) using System Center suite.
- Standardize and automate repetitive tasks using PowerShell and other tools.
- Development of self-service functions for Consumers in relation to MS-SQL administration
- Managing SQL Services (Incident solving, Life Cycle Management) independently or in collaboration with colleagues.
- All work to develop SQL services such as native SQL stack and Database as a Service (DBaaS) which is made available through portal deployment to internal Consumers.
