My Financial Services Client requires a highly experienced individual to create a refreshed IT Strategy and Architecture framework aligned with the emerging aspirations of the business

The role will require the individual to:

  • Work with the business to translate future business requirements into high level, IT-enabled solution options.
  • Design IT strategy proposals that are aligned to the business requirements and are fit for future purpose.
  • Develop future sourcing strategy and contribute toward its implementation
  • Contribute to the delivery of the first phase of the implementation plan to deliver the Strategy in conjunction with the IT Senior Leadership team.
  • Mentor and transfer skills to members of the senior leadership team through a significant period of change

Skills required:

  • Proven consulting skills, including facilitation, structuring complex arguments, solving complex problems and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to operate, challenge and communicate at a senior level
  • Extensive complex business change experience
  • Leadership capability, inclusive of influencing, strategic thinking, decision making and motivation.
  • Experience in managing organisations and people in a change environment.
  • Highly competent at mentoring and developing senior positions
  • Proven experience in negotiating and managing commercial partnerships.
  • Significant & broad knowledge of IT services and how they deliver value to a business.
  • Good understanding of IT technology and system architectures

The successful individual will possess:

  • A demonstrable track record of delivering strategic solutions within complex international organisations.
  • Extensive experience of technologies, (eg Application, Database, Network, Server, Grid) and has previously delivered roadmap of solutions available for each
  • Experience of managing a central IT PMO function.
  • Experience of support, development & operational activities across co-source, out-source, in-source approaches
  • A demonstrable track record of working with a central IT sourcing function
  • Experience of working with support and design teams, across specialty Financial Services (Insurance desirable) domains and IT.
  • Experience working and delivering major change programmes.
  • Experience of working to critical deadlines.
  • The ability to comprehend business drivers, business processes and system designs and to translate them into clear, high level solution options.
  • The ability to organise and analyse data.
  • The ability to adapt and cope with change and pressure.
  • Manage time effectively and prioritise appropriately.
  • Creative thinking and the ability to look for opportunities to innovate and improve.
  • The ability to evaluate key issues in terms of impact to the business.
  • Make decisions quickly and confidently based on experience and sound analysis
