Description
Our Public Sector Client based in East Sussex is looking for a Senior Procurement Category Specialist. This is an initial 6 month contract. Rate is up to £350 per day.
The Role:
A leadership role; with a particular focus on the Highways area of spend, primarily in East Sussex. This role will deal with some very large, high profile, very high risk contracts, which contribute to the essential infrastructure of East Sussex.
The candidate will deliver category specific procurement exercises which secure the goods, works and services that most appropriately address the identified needs of our customers, residents and users, whilst ensuring Value For Money, compliance with relevant policy and procurement legislation, and generating cashable and non-cashable efficiencies throughout the life of our contracts.
Skills:
Experience of various standard forms of contracts, eg NEC3, JCT
Possess relevant construction knowledge and understanding (preferred)
The ability to analyse contracts and specifications, to understand the appropriate route to market
Capable of working independently and carrying out analysis and interpretation of complex data
You will have a good knowledge of strategic procurement processes, procurement developments and emerging practice.
