Description

Our client, Europe's leading independent provider of IT infrastructure services, are currently seeking an experienced Oracle DBA to workon a contract basis. Initially the contract will be 8 month in duration and based at their customers busy and secure site in Dublin.

The main aim for this engagement (90-95% of the work) is to assist on integrating Customers Oracle DB however there is a little bit of support work needed at the end of the integration project.

It's also to include 1 evening release per month (approx. 2hrs out-of-hours' work monthly) and 2 weekend launches near Go Live in April 2017 (so 2 days out of hours work, twice).

This DBA will work independently supporting and delivering implementations and upgrades as well as business as usual tasks.

This candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of experience installing, implementing, upgrading, maintaining and supporting Production and non-Production Oracle E-business Suite environments.

Proven experience in administration and management of large Oracle E-business Suite environments consisting of a multi-node architecture with Oracle E-business Suite version R12.1.3.

Experience working with the following core modules: AP, iExpenses, FA, GL, AR, CM, iProcurement

Detailed knowledge of Oracle's advanced EBS and database technologies such as Transparent Data Encryption, Shared APPL_TOP, RAC, Data Guard, ASM, etc.

Substantial Oracle Database Administration technical expertise with solid background in Oracle as well as Oracle/3rd party tool administration, monitoring, development, and backup/recovery, including underlying technologies like identify management and tuning/performance on OEM

24x7 Production support experience.

Experience managing Oracle Support escalation procedures.

Significant expertise in day-to-day monitoring of Production EBS and database environments, applying patches, and using online/offline cloning techniques for the EBS and database.

Experience with EBS and database performance tuning

Experience with installing and using Grid Control to monitor and manage the complete Oracle environment.

Solid in Linux, UNIX and Scripting.

Effective communication skills are critical, both written and oral.

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

Able to work under pressure to resolve critical Real Time Production problems.

Strong skills in SQL, PL/SQL, code and instance tuning and debugging.

Experience with backup/recovery support and administrative practices.

Energetic and self-motivated team player with ability to work effectively and cooperatively with project and infrastructure teams.

Ability to work independently and trouble-shoot issues will be critical.
