Procurement Specialist - Highways - 6 months - Lewes
Local authority is looking for a Procurement Specialist with a particular focus on the Highways area of spend. This role will deal with some very large, high profile, very high risk contracts, which contribute to the essential infrastructure.
The successful applicant has to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as the role will involve extensive stakeholder management and the ability to lead and influence at all levels.
In addition, the key elements of success would include:
- Enthusiasm for the procurement profession with a category management focus
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Strong Stakeholder and Supplier engagement skills
- Category specific expertise and knowledge. Procurement of major Highways capital schemes and development of NEC3 contracts preferred
- Broad Commercial understanding
- Proven track record of delivering projects
- Public Sector experience and sound knowledge of EU procurement regulations preferred
