Description

6 month plus contract for a Solutions Architect (not an Applications Architect building an application) to help support a Program/Department responsible for the performance of applications that run their manufacturing plants.

This Architect will NOT be responsible for developing/coding.

These programs are COTS applications, built on older/Legacy systems per factory and location specifications. There is little documentation on these systems and how to support them. The goal of this program is to help support the applications while they transition these core applications to a current platform and migrate to a global portfolio.

This Architect will be responsible for helping maintain these Legacy applications from an architecture stand point for outages. They will create a solution as to how to resolve the issue and then hand off to a team of developers who will develop the code to resolve the issue.

This Architect will be developing solutions that road map how the applications are setup today and what processes need to take place to eventually migrate to a new platform. This person must be very familiar with how applications are designed, how data flows, how databases are structured, etc. It will be more important to understand the steps and processes involved than the actual technology.

Skills needed:

  • 3-7+ years of Solutions Architect experience (solving application problems at a high level), Solid foundation of Object Oriented development (.Net, Java, etc.),
  • Advanced knowledge of XML,
  • Experience with Sparx Enterprise Architecture is a plus, if not, Vizio would be acceptable and some sort of Business Process Mapping tool.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills are a must.

Local Candidates preferred. Must be able to work hourly on w2 only.
