Description

A global Renewable Energy client is looking for a Consultant to work as an O & M Facilities Construction Manager for their offshore wind farm project. The O & M Facilities Construction Manager will be responsible for the overall management, execution and co-ordination of the construction of an onshore Operation and maintenance facility. This could include development of site and HSE tender documentation for O & M facilities, permit to work system & procedure, hand-over procedures, identification and handling of stakeholders. The Consultant focus will be to manage principle contractors enduring a safe system of work, production delivery and performance to plan. This is a two year freelance project to start 1st October days a week up to 10hrs per day.
Responsibilities on site:
  • To be responsible for H&S for all O & M facilities and activities during the execution phase and to establish a safety culture amongst all involved parties on site
  • To ensure completion of construction of O & M facilities (physical asset) on time, budget & built in accordance with specification agreed in contract and ready for handover to O & M
  • Proactive management, good co-operation, communication reporting, identification, co-ordination and securing of interfaces, including alignment of scope of work and deliverables
  • Ensure that Lessons Learned and Best practice are implemented
  • Ensure clients requirements and tasks are transferred to appointed principle contractor and his site management team for execution as specified in contracts and governing the clients site & HSE management documents
  • To oversee that the construction is made in accordance with requirement, specifications and standards defined by operations preparation manager
  • Take part in tender process for ensuring compliancy with O & M facilities site requirements
  • Co-ordination of implanting all operation and maintenance information into the asset management systems

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Relevant technical education, ideally within civil engineering
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Must be fluent in English (oral & verbal)
  • CSCS card, GWO certs would be an advantage

Consultant's background:
You will have proven experience of managing construction activities within the building industry or similar industries and preferably experience with harbour facilities. You should also have substantial experience with HSE management and CDM. The Consultant should have the ability to clear SC security level clearance.

The Consultant must bring his/her own mobile telephone, PC and PPE (Safety footware, safety glasses and hard hat)
