A really exciting and interesting role based at University of Warwick and working in a Research and Development role for a well known Luxury Automotive manufacturer.

Role Brief

Getting V2V technology into cars, at the 'right quality level' vs 'driver performance expectation' is key. A Grade D lead engineer is needed to develop a fully integrated solution into JLR vehicles (at TCU level).

They will need to pull together the right stakeholders/teams, meet quality, safety and ADAS expectations. Fully test, commission and carry out road trials to the full.
Work closely with HMI and user experience teams to target the best solution that fits driver expectations.

It is essential to prove the new technology at a very low level for it to be accepted as a feature with value.

Skills Required:

  • Full understanding of 802.11p(DSRC)/LTE-VDC/LTE (3G/4G) and 5G communication protocols.
  • Preferred skills: Cohda, DSpace environments
  • Has experience of the JLR TCDS process.
  • Understands JLR Infotainment, CAN and LTU systems.
  • Able to develop connected vehicle solutions in a high usage environment conforming to C2C consortium and legislation requirements.
  • Ultimately to optimise V2V performance vs driver expectations and update management/business on progress.

Experience Preferred:

Honours degree in the relevant subject such as communications protocols, design engineering, HMI, Driver Ergonomics

Additional Experience Preferred:

Experience of working on V2X communications features, Advanced Driver Assistance Features (ADAS) such as adaptive cruise control, traffic systems.
