Pay Rate: £468 per day

Essential Experience:
- Microsoft Certified Solution Associate (MCSA) in Windows Server 2012 Technology
- Experience and application of VMWare.
- Knowledge supporting ESXi (up to latest version).
- Knowledge supporting vSphere (up to latest version).
- Experienced supporting Windows Server OS ).
- Experience supporting Active Directory.
- Understanding of Microsoft Technologies - DNS, DHCP, IIS, Clustering.
- Experience of WINTEL environments development and Linux based projects and day to day support in a cloud environment (Dev/Ops role).
- Excellent communication skills at a technical and business level.
- Ability to operate in a high pressure, fast changing environment.
- Support of infrastructure technologies and solutions - hardware, software, commercial off the shelf (COTS) and open source packages/solutions, virtual and cloud including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS
- ITIL Service Operation (particularly Request Fulfilment, Incident/Problem/Change Management) and with significant experience of Service Transition
- Monitoring and event management, escalating and/or resolving issues highlighted
- Data management regulations and policies and Information Lifecycle Management frameworks and solutions
Desirable
- Microsoft Certified Solution Expert (MCSE) in Windows Server 2012 Technology
- ITIL certification to Foundation
- Experience of MS Dynamics 2011.
- Appropriate architecture qualification - eg TOGAF.
- Prince 2 or MSP certification.
- Experience of the HPE Helion cloud service.
- Other areas of technology and solutions - experience and technical capability across projects and service life cycle eg applications development, DevOps, solutions architecture
- Service reporting - production of management information and reports, dashboards etc.
- Overseeing teams supporting services that are aligned to the business strategy and operational requirements
- Exposure to structured problem management and troubleshooting
- Experience of ITIL Service Transition
Key tasks and deliverables:
A Support Infrastructure Engineer (Dev Ops) is required to work on the Work Sevices Platform (WSP), a Microsoft Dynamics CRM muli-tier IT system, in my client and will be based in Longbenton, Newcastle upon Tyne The WSP development platform and development and maintenance service will be brought inhouse from a third party supplier at the end of October 2016. This role will be key in moving the existing environment to a new cloud based one. WSP comprises MS Dynamics 2011, MS SQL server database and has been bespoked significantly. The postholder will be expected to work across other MS SQL platforms within my client. To perform the following activities, thereby ensuring the service, contractual and regulatory requirements of the organisation are met: Build of WINTEL environments required to host the WSP Development and Dev Test environments in the cloud service we will be using Implementation of chosen tooling and application software to run the environments and deliver a development service Work on other WINTEL or Linux based projects in a Dev/Ops support capacity
Description
Responsible for: Operational management of Linux Servers, delivering a complex web application stack; building and configuring new server platforms and the automated tooling to do so; testing, debugging and troubleshooting of platform level problems; and supporting development teams with configuring applications for deployment.
You will have:
- An understanding of common web application architectures.
- Experience in configuring and managing Linux Servers for serving a dynamic website.
- Experience in debugging a complex multi-server service.
- Scripting or basic programming skills.
- Familiarity with network protocols - TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL, etc.
- A strong technical foundation in build, release and environments.
- Passion for and ability to design and support robust build, deployment and configuration management systems for multi-tier Java J2EE & .NET applications.
- Experience using: installation and management of open source monitoring tools; configuration management tools like Puppet, Chef; deploying and configuring machines in a Cloud environment (EC2, Google App Engine etc); application deployment strategies and continuous integration;
- Networking concepts, technologies, and protocols (TCP/IP, IPSec, HTTP, FTP, DHCP, and DNS); Virtualization systems (VMWare, Xen, etc);
- Operations team experience; administering application Servers, servlet containers, and web Servers (WebSphere, Apache Tomcat, Jetty, Nginx, Mongrel, Microsoft IIS, Apache HTTP server, etc); integration tools (Jenkins, Travis - CL, Go);
