Description

Our client has a requirement for a Technical Lead for providing support, provisioning, maintenance and administration to the CLAM system environments.

The production environments (Restricted and S) are hosted on physical HP Blade and Dell Servers on the UKSN (Previously EDMS) network.

Key Deliverables:

  • Maintaining a stable environment for the technical platforms
  • Providing capacity for the technical platforms supported
  • Providing Technical support and direction to development team
  • Daily monitoring of the development and production infrastructure
  • Highlighting issues and escalations as needed
  • Raising service requests, and dealing with vendor 4th line support
  • Following local process of managing incidents and work requests via the appropriate systems and procedures.
  • Implementing designs and configuration changes as requested by the programme work-streams.
  • Performing routine maintenance and housekeeping functions.
  • Scheduling and performing upgrades and enhancements as needed.
  • Update and maintain any topology and/or configuration documentation as appropriate
  • Comply with Asset Management and Procurement procedures as appropriate
  • Maintain Backups of the Development environments.

Essential Skills:

  • CLAM experience
  • Good internal customer communication skills (interfacing with both technical and non technical users)
  • Microsoft Windows XP and Windows 7 Professional
  • Windows R2 Server installation and Support
  • Active Directory understanding
  • TCP/IP, DNS and networking understanding
  • Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) patching
  • Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) administration and support
  • SharePoint Server
  • Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Express
  • Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 R2 and Hyper-V
  • VMWare Workstation
  • Veritas Backup and NAS support
  • Microsoft IIS and Web services
  • Microsoft Clustering
  • Pro-active
  • Enthusiastic

Desirable Skills:

  • TCP/IP and networking
  • Defence Knowledge
  • T-SQL Scripting and understanding
  • Visual Studio and C# Web services and Windows Desktop client
  • Working in an Enterprise scale systems environment
  • Working in a high-demand mutli-programme environment

The successful candidate must be willing to undergo or be eligible for Security Clearance.
