Description
Front End Developer required to join one of our biggest clients working within the content services team, using a wordpress core, with a mix of plugins and HTML 5, CSS 3, JavaScript, jQuery & PHP code. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Front End Developer with extensive experience in JavaScript and PHP to work on some high traffic products.
Key Skills
- Degree or relevant experience
- 2+ years creating WordPress sites from scratch, developing templates, themes, and plug-ins
- Expertise in web technologies including HTML 5, CSS 3, JavaScript/jQuery, PHP
- Knowledge of how to test effectively and in an automated way
- Know how to make WordPress performant for high load sites
- In-depth understanding of the LAMP stack
- Experience with Git and CD/CI
- Experience with AngularJS (and/or other Front End JS frameworks)
- Experience building responsive and mobile experiences
- Experience with developing email campaigns a plus
- Experience with Amazon Services a plus (EC2, Cloudformation, Databases)
The Role
Take technical leadership for:
- Maintaining & extend existing solution.
- Technical coaching of existing team of 1 dev & 1 QA.
- Introduce measures to dramatically reduce load times.
- Introduce automated regression testing.
- Reduce the rate that technical debt is created at.
- Whilst delivering cutting edge features - some of which you will help define
