A global leader in the Naval Ship Building industry are seeking a Physical Security Engineer - Naval Ships to be responsible for the physical security design activities and implementation of physical security policy as necessary to achieve Physical Security accreditation of the Ship
Skills:
* Knowledge of Def Stan 08-216 and 02-141 and relevant parts of JSP440
* Knowledge of Physical security in the design and construction of new ships
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* Able to write readable technical documentation ' right first time '
* Ability to exploit capabilities already available within the business and other domains
* Ability to direct discussion in SWGs regarding physical security issues
Knowedge:
You will need a good understanding of relevant naval shipbuilding processes, IAW Security Policy Framework, Joint Services Publications, Defence Standards and CPNI standards for security furnishings and fittings
Understanding of the need to capture and maintain data generated for use by the project and the tools and techniques so used
Deliverables:
* Key Management Policy and Key Management Plan
* Whole Warship Compartment Security Matrix (Compartment physical security characteristics)
* Stage 2/3 design rules to achieve physical security
* Compartment Security policies and plans
Responsibilities:
* Define and ensure implementation of physical security characteristics of the Ship
* Ensure that the appropriate security policies and processes are addressed by the Ships platform and equipment and by the engineering design process
* Develop definition of physical security requirements for all compartments
* Define physical security characteristics of Ship compartments
* Define security equipment and furniture required in Ship compartments and ensure compliant fitting
* Develop design rules for Ship compartments and ensure compliance iaw MoD requirements
* Assess compliance of the ship/compartment/equipment design with security requirements, architecture and policies, and propose risk mitigations
* Monitor implementation of physical security features during ship construction, assess compliance with requirements, and manage non-compliances
* Assist in development of security risk assessment
* Manage third party suppliers to shipyards and/or Ship programme offices when necessary to achieve physical security requirements
* Updating physical security documentation
* Updating physical security documentation
* Liaise with relevant inspection authorities and conduct audits, inspections to ensure compliance
* Manage the procurement and implementation of the Intruder Detection System (IDS) on the Ship platform
* Work with Cat C subcontract managers to ensure that the procurement is effective
