Description

A Renewable Energy client is looking for a Commissioning Manager for their offshore wind farm project. The Commissioning Manager will manage fabrication, installation and commissioning of 1 reactor substation, manage a team of supervisors/test engineers, and manage stakeholder interfaces. This is a freelance role to start 1st November 2016 up until approx. 31st October 2018 with the possibility of extending further thereafter. The Commissioning Manager will be on board vessel and a shift pattern will be expected from April 2018, 5 working days a per week, 10 hours in average.
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure on time commissioning of the offshore substation ready for handover to operation
  • Establish and manage the offshore commissioning organisation within the full electrical scope
  • To manage the overall commissioning planning within the agreed construction schedule
  • Co-ordinate commissioning activities with main suppliers and sub-contractors
  • Co-ordinate project commissioning activities
  • Secure quality of commissioning works and documentation
  • Report commissioning progress/participate in commissioning meetings
  • Ensure that quality is within the agreed standard during construction
  • Ensure all commissioning is completed in due time and to agreed standard
  • Manage supervision team (manage external service contract)
  • Co-ordinate and execute the SIT test
  • Ensure that the commissioning activities are in compliance with the project HSE rules and local legislation
  • Deliver input to HSE and HAZID all maintenance and service is well documented
  • Deliver list for punch items
  • Deliver status reporting from fabrication yard
Qualifications:
  • 5 years of relevant project experience required
  • Must have good project management skills, coordination skills and a talent for driving solutions to achieve outcomes in a fast paced environment
  • Commissioning experience within the field of MV/HV equipment, SCADA, low voltage and utility installations and components
  • Offshore substation work is essential
  • Certification for cranes

The Consultant must bring his/her own PC with MS Office 2007 software or newer and a mobile telephone
Onshore and offshore works: The Consultant must have their own PPE equipment
