Description
Online & Mobile Banking Business require a skilled Engineer to take ownership of the Support, Planning & Maintenance of the Linux systems (within Mostly Redhat environment) within a small, friendly team & working for a Global Business.
Main Responsibilities:
*Installation, upgrade and configuration of RHEL Servers, Networking and related tools.
*Assist in the development and planning of systems regarding the creation and maintenance of Unix and Linux
*Security of the Servers and Network and maintenance of users/roles.
*Implementation of departmental procedures for change control/operation.
*Monitoring and optimizing system performance.
*Coordination and liaison with all other IT staff/areas.
*Backup & recovery of the systems.
*Coordination and liaison with all suppliers as part of support/projects
*Responsible for responding to hardware failure escalation call as appointed by the Systems Admin Manager
Development of:
*Production of technical documentation supporting activities/projects to agreed standards.
*Expected contribution to technical strategy, policy and procedures
Experience:
*5 or more years experience in an IT environment.
*Scripting skills will be essential.
*Networking Routing skills would be a benefit (TCP/IP, BGP, etc)
*Knowledge and experience of Redhat, Cisco Network technologies, routing/switching technologies, ACL management.
*Proven track record
*Have strong interpersonal skills
*Good verbal & written communication skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams
