System Engineer ( Solaris/Linux )

Our international client based in Brussels seeks an experienced System Engineer with good knowledge of Unix ( Solaris and/or Linux )

In your role as Unix System Engineer you will liaise with ICT project managers & Application Team Leaders on software development, as well as Release- & Change managers

ICT release co-ordinators for implementation, Test co-ordinators during User Acceptance Phase, 2nd line support in the Service Desk (>= Duty, +/- 1week/month, intervention weekend and evenings and finally External suppliers)

Tasks and responsibilities

Build and maintain Middleware infrastructure: installation and migration to new versions, following ITIL methodology

Acceptation and implementation of upgrades, changes and fixes, following ITIL methodology

Resolve incidents and search solutions for problems as 2nd/3rd level support according agreed service levels

Solve complex operational problems

Build and improve Middleware automation (deployment, monitoring, reporting, ...)

Keep documentation up-to-date or create new documentation if not available, share knowledge

Support project and development teams for the middlewares under your support

Participate in proof of concepts and projects with Architecture and Security for the middlewares under your support

Follow-up of administration

Works outside normal business hours for planned changes & interventions

Participates in an on duty support team 24h/24h 7d/7d (long term) - one time every 4-6 weeks

Mandatory Skills:

Candidates should have an in-depth knowledge of at least 2 of the following domains:

IBM Sterling B2B Integrator, Sterling Filegateway, Sterling Secure Proxy and Sterling External Authentication Server

Webservice Gateway (preferably Axway API Server)

Messaging Middleware (preferably IBM WebSphere MQ)

Java Application Servers and web Servers (preferably JBoss/Apache)

Job Scheduler (preferably UC4/Automic)

Single Authentication Broker (Trustbuilder)

Tivoli Identity Management

(Middle ware) Infrastructure automation via Scripting/development (Python,bash,Java,..)

Candidates should be fluent English speakers but knowledge of French or Dutch would certainly aid communication
