I am currently seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to work with one of my clients based in Sweden, some key information regarding this unique opportunity is as follows:
Rate: Circa 520SEK per hour
Duration: 6 months minimum with view to extend
Location: Linköping, Sweden
The Company
My client develops advanced IP-based set-top boxes and has a large market footprint, they are a recognised name and a long established company with powerful backing. Their software team works with Browsers, Audio/Video input and output, Graphics stack and Subtitle rendering.
The Role
Your main tasks in this assignment will be design, implementation and maintenance of SW features in a Linux/C++ environment. The work is typically carried out in small teams using agile methods.
Quality is a focus and every developer needs to implement automated testing and other safety nets to minimise the effects of regression and provide confidence during development.
Specific Knowledge/Skills:
* Bachelor or Master of Science within Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar experience
* Proficiency in C++, object-oriented programming and design patterns
* Experience of software development on Linux
* Good written and spoken English
* As a person - social, team-player, self-motivated, good attention to details
Desirable Skills
* TV technologies like System on Chip (SoC) hardware, HDMI/HDCP
* Graphics interfaces like DirectFB, OpenGL and WebGL
* JavaScript, Python and HTML
* Git
* Test-driven software development.
