Description

Our pioneering and award winning Telecoms organisation are looking for a highly skilled Mobile Packet Core Specialist. You will support and develop our clients Mobile Packet Core infrastructure and provide technical support and assistance to all sections of the business responsible for providing and maintaining public and private mobile data services and solutions, the core network team, Network Operations Centre, Mobile Sales & Product teams Global Solutions team, our clients customers, equipment vendors and partners.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Undertake work at an advanced technical level on the Mobile Packet Core infrastructure
    • Responsible for providing third line support responding principally to PS core infrastructure service problems; where necessary co-ordinating with internal personnel or 3rd party suppliers to resolve issues.
    • Pro-actively monitor the performance of PS network and platforms and optimise performance to ensure the highest possible levels of network availability and customer product performance.
    • Demonstrates a strong level of technical competency in all aspects of the mobile packet domain. Able to resolve and generate solutions to complex technical issues
    • Demonstrate initiative and commitment in the rapid resolution of technical issues resulting in minimal customer/platform down time.
    • Ensure business and departmental Key Performance Indicators and personal objectives are achieved.
    • Provide 3rd level support for customer service, NOC and associated technical teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex 2G/3G/4G end to end' customer problems and issues, in accordance with SLA's.
    • Design, implement and integrate in-domain solutions for the evolution of network platforms in accordance with tactical and strategic plans
    • Provide the technical lead position when dealing with issues which fall within their specific area of expertise.
    • Maintain and complete change requests, evaluating and undertaking work that is classified as high risk and undertake high risk changes

Skills that you must have:

  • A significant industry recognised accreditation in a relevant ICT field eg Cisco CCNP/CCDA.
  • Demonstrable minimum 5-7 years practical skill set working on mobile packet core technologies in either an operational or development environment.
  • Hands-on' vendor experience of either Huawei, Alcatel-Lucent or Cisco platform
  • Thorough knowledge of 2G, 3G & 4G mobile packet core architectures and technologie
  • Advanced level networking skills
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Highly competent in the use of network packet analyser and monitoring tools
  • Sound knowledge of end to end' mobile networks
  • Experience of Mobile applications and devices
  • Fully competent in the use of Microsoft Office tools including Outlook, Excel and Powerpoint.

  • A subsistence allowance will also be provided of £1000 pm
