Full Stack Java Developer

A Full Stack Java Developer is urgently required for a long-term, lucrative role with one of our leading financial services clients in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

The Full Stack Java Developer will be comfortable being proactive in relation to other teams/team members and will work closely with Product Owner, User Experience and Customer Journey experts.

The focus of the role will be on high-quality mission-critical software delivered in time using iterative development with regular milestone demos, so that we minimise the risk of surprises along the way!

The Full Stack Java Developer will IDEALLY HAVE 65%+ of the following skills and experience:

  • Fluent English, Dutch speakers strongly preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of Java 7/8 including the Spring framework 3.x/4.x
  • Working knowledge of AngularJS and JavaScript
  • Experience with Git/GitLab, Maven, Jenkins, Grunt, NodeJS, Bower
  • Knowledge of relational databases (Oracle) or NoSQL databases (Cassandra)
  • Working knowledge of JPA/Hibernate
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience
  • Able to develop efficient, effective and maintainable code without over-engineering
  • Hands on OO design experience and knowledge of software design patterns
  • Good knowledge of OS fundamentals (eg Linux, Windows)
  • Passionate about code quality and (integration) test automation (JBehave)
  • Liquibase (for data migrations) is nice to have
  • JBOSS Drools (Business Rules Engine) is nice to have
  • Spring Batch is nice to have
  • WebComponents and Polymer is nice to have
  • Perfomance testing via Gatling is nice to have
