A Data Scientist position with one of our leading clients. The client aims to create data scientist executives, pioneering someone like you who has knowledge of Big Data tools and statistics to help strengthen and grown their business. Role: Data Scientist
Location: Charlotte, Carolina, NC
Rate: Highly Desirable
Contract length: LT (potentially 12 months)
The ideal candidate needs to have:
- At least 2 to 4 years experience working as a data scientist applying machine learning and deploying predictive models across different industries, including: Banking, Insurance, Healthcare, Digital, Telecommunications, etc.
- Experience in communicating with business stakeholders to formulate real-world problems into data science pipelines, communicate results, insights and business value, working with the sales account manager.
- Experience in a consulting role is good to have
- Experience in data science competitions (eg Kaggle) and contribution to open-source projects is good to have
Technical skills:
- In-depth knowledge and proven experience in Applied Statistics or Machine Learning, in particular supervised learning, predictive modelling or time series analysis
- Proficiency in at least one Scripting language for data science and data manipulation: R or Python. SAS and SPSS
- Good knowledge of data manipulation tools and ecosystems (RDBMS, NoSQL, etc.)
- Exposure to Big Data tools (Hadoop, Spark, Hive, ...) is ideal but not a pre requisite.
