Our client has a Global Platform Services (GPS) engineered infrastructure product. It is a modular, non-disruptively scalable platform capable of delivering PaaS and IaaS in a private cloud environment. We are looking for a technical professional to support operational responsibilities for global deployments from our Alpharetta, GA technology campus. The ideal candidate should have infrastructure operations and engineering experience. Having worked in a DevOps model where Agile methodologies are used would be a plus, including Scrum and Kanban. IT infrastructure knowledge of Networking, Storage, and Compute is necessary. Previous experience operating private cloud infrastructure using a mainstream hypervisor is required.
The Successful candidate will provide cloud operational support for all deployments globally, including ITIL Incident, Change and Problem management. The key job requirement is a Windows/Cloud system admin with a broad skill set that includes cutting-edge administration techniques such as Scripting with languages like PowerShell, Python and Ruby.
Responsibilities:
Engage with Cloud Service Operations in support of ITIL incident, Change, and Problem management
Align with Engineering Product Owner to collaborate on future designs, drive product improvement, and focus thinking around operational excellence
Liaison with Platform operation leaders in Compute/Linux, Storage, and Network domains to drive operations improvements for the Product
Document Platform operations and provide run books to the Command Center
Required Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
Cross-functional infrastructure experience with Systems, Storage and Networking
Strong understanding of Microsoft Windows R operating systems
Expertise in Virtualization technologies - Hyper-V preferred
Experience supporting Microsoft Azure infrastructure services.
Experience in SCOM & System Center
Knowledge of the operating models for private cloud, IaaS, and PaaS technologies
Perform troubleshooting analysis
Previous infrastructure operations experience
Previous infrastructure engineering experience
Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems
Familiarity with continuous integration and delivery
Strong communication skills, written and verbal
Strong work ethic, attention to detail and problem solving skills
Proven experience with automation and/or Scripting language (PowerShell, Perl, Chef, Puppet, etc).
