Client Services Representative - Asset Management Custodial Bank, London - 3 months

Asset Management Custodial Bank requires a competent Client Services Representative to join their team in Canary Wharf on an initial 3 month contract. You will join the Global Custody team and will be expected to deliver professional client service to Investment Managers and Clients on a day-to-day operational basis by providing proactive issue management (Trade, Cash, Corporate Action, Income etc), ensuring the resolution of all issues with Investment Managers and Clients on a timely basis, escalating where appropriate to management.

This is a busy and demanding environment with high values and large volumes of transactions requiring good concentration and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

  • As a Client Services Representative, you will provide day-to-day operational support to Investment Managers (IMs) and Clients ensuring their requirements are met professionally and expediently.
  • Develop and improve your IM or Client relationships including taking proactive ownership of all operational issues
  • Conduct regular service reviews with IM/Clients, following up on actions points and service enhancement requests. Increase understanding through show and tell visits/regular calls.
  • Monitoring of internal risk management controls including failed transactions and overdrawn balances and ensuring that the checklist is completed daily.
  • Interface with other internal departments (including the Operational team, Global Custody, Treasury, Securities Lending and Corporate Actions) to ensure timely resolution of cross-departmental issues.
  • Maintain accurate desktop procedures, KYC documentation and standing instructions for an assigned group of IMs or Clients and ensure the operational group is aware of and comply with these procedures
  • Ensure all IM or Client queries are logged, monitored and closed on the appropriate system, providing appropriate client communication until resolution and management reporting on overstandard queries where required
  • Monitor client needs helping to ensure correct resource allocation
  • Ensure all claims are investigated and resolved within required deadline
  • Ensure failed transaction and pre-matched reports are provided to all IMs and Client by required deadline.

Essential Technical Skills, Knowledge, Systems Knowledge (and associated skill level)

  • Excellent organisational skills, with accurate manipulation, analysis & checking of figure work.
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office products, in particular manipulating Excel spreadsheets. Utilising advanced functions would be desirable.
  • Able to work individually or in a team to achieve a common goal.
  • Excellent interpersonal and motivational skills.
  • Able to deal appropriately with many tasks simultaneously.
  • Able to communicate at all levels, both orally and in writing.
  • Quick to develop new skills and a pro-active approach to learning and training.
  • Experience with the following systems advantageous: CMS, Workbench and IMITs

Academic/Professional Qualifications (or equivalent qualifiers)

  • Minimum of 'A' level education or equivalent, with good passes in Maths and English
  • Proven custody or fund management experience, preferably performing a client-facing role.
