Data Quality Manager Role Description

  • Responsible for defining and implementing a data quality methodology and the processes, procedures and standards required to support an enterprise wide data quality management program
  • Develops processes to streamline data quality measurement, monitoring and remediation across lines of business and enterprise data flows
  • Run data quality forum with representatives across business functions to understand data quality issues
  • Define processes and procedures for conducting audits of data quality using sound sampling and statistical estimation techniques
  • Develops processes to document and maintain data lineage, critical data element metadata and data quality rules
  • Custodian of the business rules repository and responsible for ensuring it kept up-to-date and properly maintained
  • Manage and execute the creation and distribution of data quality reports
  • Assists in measuring and monitoring data quality and identifying business impacting data quality issues
  • Assists in measuring data quality capability and maturity
  • Assists in data quality assessments and derive metrics for the data elements of most business value
  • Assesses and provides metrics of the data quality characteristics of validity, integrity, accuracy, completeness, timeliness control, availability, relevance, usefulness, accessibility, and definition
  • Collaborate with IT to select and implement data quality tools
  • Provide training on data quality processes and procedures
  • Develops and maintains working relationships with business leaders/strategy owners
  • Manages stakeholders' interest proactively

Desired Skills and Experience

Here are the minimum qualifications and essential functions for this position:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline
  • 3-5+ years relevant experience
  • Strong understanding of data quality management principles
  • Data quality business process improvement experience
  • Strong project management experience with a proven track record of delivering successful projects on time and within the agreed quality standards
  • Advanced knowledge of data quality analysis tools
  • Result oriented
  • Data quality tool implementation experience desirable
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • The ability to present complicated analytics clearly to senior stakeholders
  • Strong process viewpoint
  • Cooperative problem solving mindset
  • Able to work well across multiple functional areas
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Exposure to ITSM a distinct plus
  • Experience with TIQM a plus
  • IQCP certification a plus
