Description
The objective is to prepare applications for deployment in SBC, VDI and FAT client environmentsA key step in the T&T Workplace project is accompanying business application owners in analyzing business application integration needs and debugging application run failures on the new platform. This is a specialized service offered to a select set of application owners. The main objective is to deliver a functional business application by analyzing the business application requirements, list the application dependencies, perform a manual install and troubleshoot potential issues, document the findings and finally deliver a working APP-V stream.
Skills & competencies required:
The application analyst specialist requirements:
-Indepth understanding and experience with Windows desktop and workstation environments. Experience as technical staff (sysadmin, developer etc.) is an asset.
-general understanding of business software architectures based around Windows technology
-scripting skills (CMD, VBS and powershell)
-APP-V 5 knowledge (client features, sequencing, …)
-Excellent troubleshooting skills (e.g. the use of process monitor)
-General application packaging skills (MSI)
-Good written and oral communication skills
-The software analyst will communicate in a complex project with business over complex matters. Clear, precise and business-orientated communication skills are key to perform the task correctly.
-The communication skills should be in English (FR and/or NL is an asset.)
-Technical skills: usage of virtual machines, application debugging, determining missing components, determining hardware dependencies, …
Overall SME skills
-Ability (by experience) to create work products: installation documentation which will be used by other teams to create a software package.
-Ability to support Project Managers in the elaboration of the detailed project schedules
-Able to work in a structured approach.
