I have an excellent opportunity for a Communications Advisor to work for a major company based in Warwick.

Communications Advisor

4 Months Contract

Warwick

Job Purpose:

To provide a comprehensive communications service for ETAM Non Operations. To provide strategic advice on and deliver internal communications plans. To liaise with the National Grid Communications team on external communications strategies to support project delivery.

Key Tasks:

  • Work closely with key business stakeholders to develop a robust communications plan.
  • Develop and manage key internal communications campaigns focused on key messaging
  • Prepare and edit communications material - presentations, newsletter articles, e-mail bulletins for routine and one-off staff communications. This needs to be done accurately and to strict deadlines, often short ones.
  • Develop and maintain communication channels such as Share Point and Infonet site, providing guidance to authors on style & presentation, supporting the development of material and ensuring the currency of posted materials
  • Coordinate the organisation of ETAM workshops and conferences, liaising with venue, ensuring the appropriate audio & visual resources are in place, preparing supporting materials and engaging with lead managers and invited speakers.
  • Assist the leadership team to devise effective one-off communications initiatives that are necessary from time-to-time to support specific business objectives

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience in a business administration, internal communications or event management role.
  • A good appreciation of UK Transmission's organisational structure and the range of business activities.
  • Evident ability to prepare and edit articles, reports and presentations using a succinct style with accurate spelling and grammar
  • Excellent IT skills and an evident willingness to experiment with new computer applications and achieve new things. Advanced use of PowerPoint is essential, experience of web-page development and editing is preferred.
  • GCSE Grade C, or equivalent, in English and in at least one numerate subjects (maths or science)
  • Current driving Licence
