SYSTEM ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR (Linux) Place of work : Den Haag (the Netherlands)

The scope of work is as follows:
For one of our clients, we are looking for a "jack-of-all-trades" type of consultant, someone with Windows, Linux, HPUX, VMware, Firewalls, Switches and good basic troubleshooting skills between them all.
* Provide expertise in maintaining systems and networking devices within an isolated laboratory environment
* Provide expertise in formalizing the existing Lab Admin practices such as system and network maintenance, patch installation, recovery procedures, backup procedures and security and penetration testing
* Provide expertise in developing secure and sound Lab Admin practices with support from application and service subject matter experts
* Working member of a small highly technical team of security experts, made of existing staff, contractors and new hires
* Assist in establishing, operating and maintaining Cyber Practice Field infrastructure for supporting the above activities as well as helping the organization test and characterize additional cyber tools for operations
* Work closely with the "Red Team" in creating courses of action raise awareness, help learning, and identify key focus areas Associated Tasks: System admin: General: OS admin (users/groups/passwords, networking, audit, syslog, ssh/d, ntp, ACLs, filesystems, etc) VM hosting, DNS, troubleshooting, virtualization Unix: HPUX, Solaris, AIX (potentially) Linux: red hat and debian Windows: Server, Workstation
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related disciplines
Strong IT knowledge including OS, storage, database, backup and monitoring
Strong knowledge of Networking and TCP/IP
Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux system administration (Solaris and/or RHEL) including Shell Scripting
Interest in expanding expertise into areas of cyber security highly desired
Understanding of SELinux configuration and tuning highly desired
Previous experience with deployment automation solutions such as Ansible and Satellite is a plus
Knowledge of virtualisation (Solaris zones/logical domains and/or VMware) and clustering is a plus
Knowledge of Web/Application Servers (Apache Tomcat) is a plus
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, and ability to conduct complex analysis on large data sets

Strong communication skills, written and verbal
Self-driven and a good team player
Relevant administration and/or security certifications such as RHEL or SANS certifications will be considered an asset
Must be authorized to work in The Netherlands
Experience as IT Lab Manager or similar is a huge plus.
